Our "Pet" Hummer

Well, we had an eventful evening yesterday. When I pulled into the garage at about 5:00, I saw a huge birb fly out...then as I got out the car, I saw a tiny little hummingbird flapping around and flying repeatedly into the ceiling of the garage. He was stuck and didn't know now to get out. Now why she couldn't see the huge exit to fly out of (the door was open) I am not sure but she was going crazy trying to fly through the ceiling! So I went inside and told Kenny we had a problem and we had to get her out before she knocked herself unconcious. So he told me to go get the feeder and we'd hang it in the doorway. We did, and it didn't work. She just wasn't looking down at all. So then I got the broom and thought I could guide her out the door...NOPE! And Kenny said the broom could damage her wings. So then we got the sun visor for the windshield and used it to try to get her to fly out. Still nothing. Kenny was standing on top the fourwheeler and the ladder and everything to try to get closer to her. Nothing was working and I was sure he was going to get hurt. So then we realized she would land on the visor and if we could get her to stay maybe we could get close enough to the side door to put her outside. After about 10 close calls we finally got her to land and got the visor out the door enough that she could fly away...Shwooooooo, that was hard. So 30 minutes later, she was free. Our good deed for the day. I don't think either of us could bare the thought of her stuck in there and possibly hurting herself or dying. But now she is free and I think she knows we love her :-)
